Sunday Breakfast and a chat

Sundays breakfast was the start of a 6 Day Slim Down.
5 stalks steamed asparagus
1 piece of tofu egg
half a sprouted english muffin
half a grapefruit

It was really good and a lot more food than I normally eat at breakfast.  I'm normally eating a piece of toast with some almond butter for breakfast.  But, not this week.  Looks like I'll be eating real food.  I only managed a small bit of the grapefruit.  I despise grapefruit, truly I do.
My husband ate the same breakfast as I did and my boys ate cereal and leftover pancakes.

This morning I had cereal for breakfast, not that exciting.  I really miss my morning toast.    Snack this morning was a cup of strawberries.  And as I sat there eating them I thought back to when I was a kid.  I use to eat strawberries, sure did.  But when I ate them, they weren't organic and fresh.  Did they even really sell an organic option back then?  Ah well...  I remember getting fresh strawberries from the store.  My mom would cut them up and dump sugar on top.  I honestly thought that was how you were suppose to eat them.  I'm not complaining about the way I use to eat strawberries.  They were good!  So anyway, these sugar berries were set inside the refrigerator so that they could release their juices.  So then later we'd pile these sugar berries on top of a piece of shortcake and top with Cool-Whip.  And that my dear readers is how I remember eating fresh strawberries.   You won't catch me eating them like that now.  In fact, you will rarely see me eating fruit, it's just not what I do.  I should, I need to eat more fruit.  This week I'll be eating more fruit than I ever though possible.  It's going to be hard but I'll push through, te he!

First shared meal

Ready for Day 1 of hopefully many?

Breakfast today was just a banana and some decaf coffee.  I just haven't been hungry in the mornings lately.  It's all the germs in the air, I just don't have a great appetite.    Two of my boys had frozen waffles and my 4 year old had frozen french toast sticks.  Both the waffles were Van's brand, gluten free.  We aren't a gluten free family but those don't have eggs in them so that's what we get.

Lunch is a little more complicated.  My oldest, Isaac, is in school so I pack his lunch every day.  Today he had peanut butter on crackers, pretzels, Annie's gummy bunnies and vanilla almond(?) milk.  Or is it soy?  I'd have to get up to look and well, I'm cozy under a blanket so that will have to wait.
My middle boy, Liam, had pretzel rods and maple almond butter on crackers.  He quickly ran off before eating anything else.
My youngest, Eban, he sat a little bit longer.  He had maple almond butter on crackers, pretzels and strawberries.
And finally my turn!  I had a small bowl of Beans Bourguignon w/ a piece of french bread.

So that's all so far today.  I'll either be back with an edit or you'll have to sit wondering what in the world I ate the rest of the day!
